It is an enormous honor to be part of the list of athletes nominated for the 2009 Golden Foot Award. It is also an honor to be amongst those who won in previous years, to be nominated for the award and to have so many dedicated fans who visited the event’s website to vote.

I am very grateful for those who voted and were a part of this. And I am especially happy to be a part of the history of football. A history that has been built from the passion of thousands of people, and mine too, for as far as I can remember.

An athlete’s career is made of special experiences and beautiful memories. I can say with all confidence that tonight is one of those moments I’ll never forget.
